FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BRIDGEWATER – On Saturday, Mayor Matt Moench launched his re-election campaign alongside teammates Council President Michael Kirsh and Council Vice-President Tim Ring. The team of Moench, Kirsh & Ring was endorsed by local Republicans earlier in the week in a unanimous vote.

“It has truly been the honor of my life to serve as Mayor of the town I grew up in and where my three kids will grow up”, said Moench. “The last four years we have worked hard to provide strong conservative leadership, fulfilling campaign promises like rebuilding our roadways while keeping taxes low and persistently fighting against overdevelopment. We continue to stand by our police and serve as a partner in keeping our community safe. I’m proud of our work, stand by our record and am confident the voters will agree.”

“From responding to crises to delivering fiscally responsible budgets to investing in our infrastructure, among other things, we have accomplished so much during this term,” said Kirsh. “There is much more to do and that is why I am seeking re-election to Council. Our team will keep moving Bridgewater in the right direction.”

“I have always valued public service above all else”, said Ring. “Through my actions, I have strived to make our community a better place to live and raise a family and am honored to continue that goal through service on the Town Council. My running mates and I share a positive vision that continually improves our quality of life in Bridgewater and provides residents with the government they deserve.”

The announcement was made in front of a standing room crowd in Bridgewater and drew several familiar faces including Somerset County Republican Chairman Tim Howes, State Senator Doug Steinhardt and 2021 Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Jack Ciattarelli.

The trio first ran four years ago ousting the incumbent mayor and his team in an off the line challenge.

Prior to election as Mayor, Moench served on the Township Council for 12 years. Moench graduated Bridgewater-Raritan High School and attended Rutgers College where he received a degree in Cell Biology/Neuroscience and Political Science prior to receiving his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School. A small business owner Moench practices law as a partner in the firm King, Moench & Collins. Prior to elected office, Moench served as a volunteer on numerous boards and committees including the Bridgewater Board of Adjustment and Bridgewater Planning Board. He and his wife Stephanie, also a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, live with their son Jackson and daughters Emmanuella and Julia.

A 16-year resident of Bridgewater, Michael Kirsh has been active in politics and government for more than 25 years. In Bridgewater, Michael is a previous member of both the Zoning Board and the Planning Board, and was Chairman of the local Republican Party for four years. Prior to moving to Bridgewater, he lived in Green Brook and served on the Township Committee there for three years. Kirsh lives with his wife Nicole, daughter Phoebe, son Robert, and dog Lily. He works as a marketing and business development professional. Michael is an avid baseball fan, having visited all 30 Major League Baseball parks.

Timothy Ring is a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, where he has been actively involved in the

community for over 35 years prior to his service on the Council. He is a member of the Green Knoll Rescue Squad, having formerly served as Deputy Chief and a life member of Martinsville Rescue Squad. He is also a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association and Martinsville Rescue squad and a member of various other community organizations. He was elected to the Bridgewater Republican Municipal Committee in 2018. He currently serves on the Township Planning Board. Tim lives with his wife Terri, daughters Elizabeth and Amanda and two golden retrievers. A graduate of BRHS, he has called Bridgewater home his whole life and currently works as a corporate safety and security professional.
