NJDSC Statement on Mikie Sherrill’s Debate Victory

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Democratic State Committee LeRoy J. Jones, Jr. released the following statement: 

“Tonight Mikie Sherrill showed New Jersey and the country what so many people across this state already know: That as a mom of four and former Navy helicopter pilot, her record of service and her vision for the future of New Jersey – one where we take on the big utilities and grid operators to cut costs, while opening the books in Trenton and making government work better for everyone – is exactly what we need in our next governor.

“Jack Ciattarelli, on the other hand, made crystal clear that he’d be Trenton’s Trump, putting this administration’s harmful agenda over everyday people in this state every single time. He’s for the tariffs hurting our small businesses, he’d remake our state supreme court like Trump did SCOTUS, and if this president defies the constitution Jack will give him a pass. No ‘Jersey guy’ would go out like that without a backbone – we deserve better. It’s time to elect Mikie Sherrill and send Jack home for the third time.”
