PBS NewsHour will present live anchored coverage of the first week of the House of Representatives’ public impeachment hearings on Wednesday, November 13 and Friday, November 15, and going forward as the hearings are scheduled. The Impeachment Hearings will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday and at 9 a.m. on Friday and will be airing live on NJTV, THIRTEEN and WLIW21 WORLD. 

NJTV News will also livestream the coverage on its site, njtvnews.org.

The first witnesses before the House Intelligence Committee will be Bill Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat for Ukraine and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs.

After opening statements, Rep. Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee chair, and Devin Nunes, the committee’s ranking Republican member, will each be given 45 minutes to ask questions. Then other lawmakers will be allowed to question the witnesses.

During primetime, the NewsHour nightly broadcast at 6 p.m. on WLIW21 and 7 p.m. on THIRTEEN will include highlights from the day’s hearings and further analysis and reporting. The WORLD channel will broadcast an encore of the hearings beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday.

The NewsHour programming will be anchored by managing editor and anchor Judy Woodruff and will include contributions from other NewsHour reporters including Capitol Hill correspondent Lisa Desjardins, White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor, and Nick Schifrin, Foreign Affairs and Defense correspondent, and more. Woodruff will be joined by Michael Allen, Managing Director at Beacon Global Strategies, LLC and Mieke Eyong, Vice President at Third Way.

“Covering impeachment hearings is how the PBS NewsHour got its start, with Robert MacNeil and Jim Lehrer during the Watergate hearings,” said Sara Just, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of the PBS NewsHour. “It is as important now as it was then that we provide the audience with access to these historic developments and insight for understanding their significance.”

The hearings will broadcast live on NJTV and streamed on NJTV News website as well as PBS NewsHour’s digital and social platforms. Additionally, the hearings will be available for on-demand viewing on all platforms. The hearings will be streaming on PBS.org/NewsHour and on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. The online coverage of these events will be gavel to gavel.
