OCEAN COUNTY GOP ANNOUNCES DATES FOR RESUMES, SCREENING AND CONVENTION FOR THE 2022 ELECTION SEASON.

As we approach the upcoming holiday season, we want to wish everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Now that the 2021 General Election is behind us, we begin our planning for the upcoming 2022 Election
season.

The following seats are up for 2022:

United States Congress

Congressional District 2 – currently held by Congressman Jeff Van Drew
Congressional District 4 – currently held by Congressman Christopher H. Smith

Due to the recent approved Congressional redistricting, Ocean County is no longer part of CD 3.

County Commissioner Seats – John P. Kelly, Commissioner
Virginia E. “Ginny” Haines, Commissioner
OC Sheriff – currently held by Michael G. Mastronardy

All interested candidates must have their resume and their written request to screen delivered to Pat Lane at Headquarters no later than January 14, 2022. Consistent with the Ocean County GOP County Council By-laws, only those candidates who screen are eligible for nomination at Convention.

Screening of candidates will take place by our Screening Committee at Republican Headquarters on
Thursday, February 10, 2022. Exact time for candidates will be provided later.

Our Convention vote will take place on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Details to follow. Last year we were in
the throes of COVID and our process was somewhat limited. At this time, we are not sure what are COVID regulations will be in March. As time goes by, we will determine the process that will be implemented for guests to attend.
