RSLC Statement on New Jersey Elections
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Edith Jorge-Tuñón released the following statement on tonight’s elections for the State Assembly in New Jersey:
“Democrats have controlled the legislature in New Jersey for over 20 years and it was always going to be difficult to make inroads in such a blue state. While tonight’s results will mean an unfortunate status quo in New Jersey, they reinforce why it’s so important to keep investing, organizing, and growing our presence in communities that deserve real accountability and balance. Despite underperformance at the top of the ticket we are proud of our investment in a robust get-out-the-vote operation that was crucial to maximizing GOP turnout and mitigating losses in key State Assembly races. We will continue to help Trenton Republicans push back against the out-of-touch agenda peddled by Democrats that continue to make New Jersey one of the least affordable states to live in.”
