HOW RUTGERS, PHARMA AND NEW JERSEY ARE JOINING FORCES TO BRING CUTTING-EDGE HEALTH CARE TO PATIENTS FASTER
How can New Jersey spark more scientific and medical breakthroughs while shortening the time it takes for those breakthroughs to reach patients? On Dec. 5, 2019, state leaders from higher education, research, policy, government and the pharmaceutical industry will meet at Rutgers University to discuss how industry, government and academia are partnering to improve clinical research in New Jersey and provide cutting-edge care to its residents.
The National Institutes of Health recently awarded $33 million to a Rutgers-led team that includes Princeton University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology to transform the way clinical research is translated into evidence-based patient care in New Jersey. For New Jerseyans, that means not having to leave their home state to access the newest clinical trials and effective therapies. The award will also help build partnerships between the three universities and the state’s huge health care and pharmaceutical industries to shorten the time it takes for innovative treatments to get to market.
The event will explore the ongoing revolution in clinical and translation science and how the government, health care industry and universities can collaborate to improve health in New Jersey.
WHEN: Dec. 5, 2019, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
