Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee to Hold Hearing on Economic Impacts of Tourism
EGG HARBOR – The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee will meet on Monday to hear testimony from invited guests regarding the economic impacts of the state’s tourism industry, according to Senator James Beach, the committee’s chair.
“Tourism is one of New Jersey’s largest industries, supporting thousands of jobs, small businesses, and communities across the state, especially in and around the Shore Region,” said Senator James Beach (D-Camden/Burlington). “This hearing will be a great opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders about both their successes and the challenges they continue to see on the ground, so that we can craft better-informed policies that will strengthen this vital sector of our economy.”
The committee will meet on Monday, October 6, at 11:00 AM in the Council Chambers at the Egg Harbor Township Municipal Building located at 3515 Bargaintown Road, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
Representatives from the following organizations will give testimony:
· New Jersey Chamber of Commerce
· Chamber of Commerce South New Jersey
· New Jersey Farm Bureau
· Visit Atlantic City
· Tourism Economics
· New Jersey Tourism Industry Association
· Ben Rose, Greater Wildwoods Tourism Authority
· Melissa DeFreest, Somerset County Business Partnership
