In addition, Senator Singleton’s office is hosting an animal shelter supply drive. Needed supplies can be dropped off at 400 North Church Street, Suite 260, Moorestown now through February 21. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Suggested donations include: new toys, unopened dry/wet cat and dog food, cat litter, flea/tick preventative, dish soap, sponges, paper towels,  dryer sheets, laundry detergent, and large trash bags

“Over the past two years, we have spent over 1,000 hours volunteering our time on a wide array of service projects throughout our local communities,” said Senator Singleton. “Whether we are helping people or pets, our volunteers demonstrate compassion and concern for the organizations we are serving and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the Burlington County Animal Shelter.”

“As liaison to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, I see first-hand the need for volunteers. Many times, the animals that come to the shelter are in desperate need of care and attention, having been abandoned or neglected,” stated Freeholder Dan O’Connell. “The people who help at the shelter give these animals a better life while they wait for their forever home. We are extremely thankful to Senator Troy Singleton for arranging this event and helping our furry friends.”

This will be Senator Singleton’s 27th “Serve with Singleton” event since becoming State Senator in 2018. Previous volunteer efforts include: indoor and outdoor clean-up days, animal welfare projects, various clothing and supply drives, painting projects, and community event set-up and staffing. To date, volunteers to local community service projects have donated more than 1,000 hours.

The Burlington County Animal Shelter seeks to create an environment where all animals receive appropriate care, love, and attention at all times. To ensure the best possible quality of life for all of our animals the Shelter works hard to promote respect and reverence by establishing a “no kill” philosophy. By working with committed volunteers and rescues, over a thousand animals’ lives are saved each year. Additionally, the shelter also provides the essential services for reuniting lost pets with their owners.
