Somerset County Education Association Proudly Announces Endorsements in County Races

The Somerset County Education Association (SCEA), representing nearly 7,000 diverse public school employees in Somerset County, proudly announces its endorsements for the upcoming elections: Melonie Marano and Elizabeth Graner for Somerset County Commissioner, and Darrin Russo for Somerset County Sheriff.

Marano has a proven record of phenomenal advocacy for educators, students and communities throughout Somerset County. Her support of public schools, especially at the Somerset County Vo-Tech, demonstrates her commitment to maintaining the high quality public schools that have been a source of pride in Somerset County, and New Jersey as a whole.

Elizabeth Graner, in her short time as a County Commissioner, has distinguished herself through her service to constituents and ability to quickly master the duties of the position. Her celebrated career as an educator highlights her commitment to serving communities and makes her the ideal candidate to continue the outstanding work our Commissioners have done at the County Vo-Tech.

Sheriff Russo is seeking his third term as Somerset County Sheriff. His first two terms, built upon a lifelong career in law enforcement, have exemplified the service to our community. Under Sheriff Russo's leadership our County Sheriff services have become not only more effective, but more connected, as Sheriff Russo is implementing a number of community and educational programs, as well as taking an active role in the public school community.

After a thorough screening process and careful consideration, the SCEA is thrilled to announce the unanimous endorsement of Melonie Marano and Elizabeth Graner for Somerset County Commissioner, alongside Darrin Russo for Somerset County Sheriff, as they seek re-election to continue their commendable support for Somerset County communities.

Dan Epstein, SCEA President, stated, “Melonie Marano, Elizabeth Graner, and Darrin Russo are strong advocates for our students, our members, and our outstanding public schools. They are proven, dedicated leaders who will keep Somerset County moving in the right direction.”
