A 'King' Shows up at No Kings Rally

SOMERVILLE - "I'm white trash??? You're white trash!"

That was the level of discourse in front of the Somerset Courthouse this afternoon at a No Kings Rally.
At least that was one side of the argument advanced by a beaming MAGA counter protester stationed behind the anti-Trump demonstrators at a nonpeaceful and organized rally sponsored by Indivisible Somerset County.
The "white trash" comment penetrated the atmosphere courtesy of a megaphone held by this woman in black in the general area of a few biker types in beards and sunglasses and at least one "Proud Boys" t-shirt shouting "loser" epithets at the No Kings people amid theatrical First Amendment chest-thumping contained by a combination of self-restraint and a stepped-up and very alert-looking local police presence.
Removed from that particular gaggle but still in the vicinity of the counter protesters, a guy in a Burger King-style crown with plastic gemstones, draped in a red cape complete with fur cheetah mantle, wielded his own microphone.
He puffed on a cigarette in between hurling random harmless comments at the No Kings people.
"What are you doing?" InsiderNJ asked him.
He had the demeanor of a mild-mannered door-to-door salesman.
"Just making sure they don't dominate [the space]," said the crown-wearing pro-Trump backer.
Charges of "Pedophile" got flung toward the Trump people from the other side as the lager crowd of anti-Trump demonstrators mostly kept their backs to the counter protesters, sights fixed on the speakers commanding the marble stairs of the courthouse.
Indivisible and their allies mostly ignored the Trumpies, who did their best to bait but mostly got drowned out by the strong presence of No Kings protestors.
