314 Action Fund Endorses Dr. Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District
(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — 314 Action Fund today endorsed Dr. Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. As a former U.S. Army combat surgeon who saved U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth’s life, veteran and first-time candidate, Dr. Hamawy is a Guardian of Public Health candidate. He’s answering the call to serve his community as 314 Action works to elect 100 new doctors, nurses and health care professionals to office by 2030, raising and spending over $25 million in the effort.
“Dr. Adam Hamawy has saved lives as an Army trauma combat surgeon in war zones, a first responder on 9/11 and in emergency rooms in New Jersey—now he’s prepared to continue the fight in Washington,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “With Donald Trump’s illegal war in Iran driving up costs at home and over a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act—Republicans in Congress have failed all Americans. We need brave new leaders like Dr. Hamawy who understand how to fix the healthcare crisis and knows the cost of war firsthand. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to supporting his campaign for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District.”
“Republicans and Trump have spent more money on bombs than healthcare without accountability from Congress—and I refuse to let that continue,” said Dr. Adam Hamawy. “I’ve spent my career on the front lines. In Gaza, I saw the devastation that comes when doctors and patients don’t have access to the medical equipment and care they need. New Jerseyans need a fighter in Congress; someone who will fix our broken health care system, protect our veterans, and lower the cost of living. I’m proud to be endorsed by 314 Action and look forward to working together.”
Dr. Adam Hamawy is a father, husband, humanitarian, surgeon, veteran, and small business owner running to represent New Jersey’s 12th District where he was raised and is raising his children. He served as a combat trauma surgeon and became a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, working with medical teams in combat and disaster zones like Iraq and Haiti and saved hundreds of lives. Since completing his service, Dr. Hamawy has spent the last decade building a successful medical practice in the Princeton area, while also dedicating more than 30 years volunteering to treat patients in overwhelmed hospitals, war zones, and disaster areas at home and abroad.
