BRIDGEWATER- Rebecca Bennett stepped onto the podium shortly before 10 pm.

Her message was simple:

“We have turned the page on the Trump Administration,” she said.

The crowd had been energized by a trio of previous speakers. Including the governor.

“You have spoken loud and clear,” Bennett told her delirious supporters.

Change is needed. And most importantly, the time has come to fight the “corruption” of the Trump Administration.”

Bennett took credit for beating a political dynasty.

All this was just part of a great night for the Dems.

LeRoy Jones, the state Democratic chair, was exuberant.

He called it a tsunami of blue all across the country.

MIkie Sherrill spoke of CD-7 sending a “bad ass” to Congress.

Her speech over, Bennett shook hands and embraced many in the crowd to the soundtrack of Springsteen’s  Born to Run.

A New Jersey scene to be sure.
