ESSEX COUNTY DEMOCRATS ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF NEW PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS

ESSEX COUNTY- Essex County Democratic Committee Chair Leroy J. Jones today announced the creation of a Progressive caucus within the ECDC’s existing structure to help ensure Progressive Democrats have an official voice within the county party structure.

The new caucus joins a number of others within the ECDC that provide critical insight and valuable input for the county party, including the Young Dems caucus and the LGBTQ caucus.

The new leader of the Progressive caucus will be announced at the ECDC re-organization meeting Wednesday, June 17^th.  Similar to other caucus leaders, they will have a seat at the executive committee table and will serve as the point person responsible for recruiting members and presenting ideas to the executive committee on behalf of the new Progressive caucus.

Chairman Jones was enthusiastic in announcing the new caucus and released the following statement praising Progressive Democrats throughout Essex County:

“We are excited to announce the creation of the new ECDC Progressive caucus and look forward to their insight and ideas to help ensure the future success of Essex County Democrats.  We are constantly working to expand the county’s Democratic tent to make sure we are truly reflective of the values of our Party, and we remain committed to making sure every county Democrat has a seat at the table.  This new caucus position will be an important voice in our continuing fight on behalf of county families against the oppressive policies and general chaos emanating from the White House and MAGA Republicans.”
