New Jersey Hall of Fame Announces Renewal of the Areté Scholarship

ADP Grant Funds Four Student Scholarships for NJ High School Seniors
October 1, 2026 – For more than 3,000 years, the ancient Greek concept of Areté has inspired individuals to pursue goodness and excellence and be the best possible version of themselves. Today, New Jersey high school seniors graduating in 2027 can apply for the Areté Scholarship, presented by the NJHOF in collaboration with ADP, to help them achieve their higher education goals.
The Areté Scholarship supports the NJHOF’s mission of inspiring the next generation of Garden State students to work diligently towards their highest potential, regardless of the obstacles they face along the way.
“Areté celebrates more than what students achieve in the classroom," said NJHOF Director of Educational Programs, Alexandra Genova. “The Areté Scholarship recognizes the character, perseverance, and purpose behind students' achievements and encourages them to continue striving toward their fullest potential”
Successful applicants will embody the spirit of Areté, a sense of Jersey pride, and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. They will distinguish themselves as New Jerseyans on their way to realizing their dreams by demonstrating academic engagement, moral character, and a commitment to their community.
Scholarship applications and all supporting documentation, including one academic transcript and two letters of recommendation, must be submitted between October 1, 2026, and February 28, 2027, to be considered. Successful Areté Scholarship applicants will be notified in May 2027.
Interested students can request more information at NJHOFScholarships.com or apply directly at njhalloffame.org/arete/. Questions and confidential letters of recommendation should be sent to arete@njhalloffame.org.
