Hillside Councilman Sip Whitaker today endorsed Jorge Batista in the mayoral runoff.

“I am honored to endorse and support Jorge Batista for mayor, said Whitaker in a statement.

Batista and Dahlia Vertreese are competing in the Dec. 5th contest.

According to NJ.com, in last Tuesday’s contest, “Batista got 1,472 votes, Vertreese earned 1,324, former councilwoman Salonia Saxton got 875 and current councilman Sip T. Whitaker got 682, according to unofficial results from the county clerk’s office.”
