Mazzeo

Mazzeo Running for LD2 Senate Seat

“One-hundred percent.”

That’s what Atlantic County Democratic Committee Chairman Mike Suleiman said when asked if Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-2) is pursuing the LD2 senate seat.

Mazzeo passed on a chance to run for the seat when Senator Jim Whelan died in 2017.

Republican Chris Brown subsequently defeated installed Senate replacement Colin Bell, then opted not to run for reelection this year.

Republicans are focusing their support behind former Assemblyman Vince Polistina (R-2) for the battleground senate seat.

His intentions set up a Republican showdown with Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi (R-39), who is running for the seat, too.
