RETIRES AFTER 48 YEARS OF SERVICE

Mayor Andre Sayegh and community members honor the legacy of “A Lady of Grace.”

 

PATERSON, NJ – On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Mayor Andre Sayegh, will join members of the Paterson community to honor Janet McDaniel for her 48 years of dedicated service to the residents of Passaic County. Originally from Florence, Alabama, McDaniel began her career with the Passaic County Board of Social Services in 1975 as an Income Maintenance Technician. She quickly rose through the ranks, serving in several positions, including Training Administrator, Purchasing Agent, Child Support Administrator, and eventually, Chief of Administrative Services, where she retired on December 31, 2022.

 

McDaniel’s dedication to serving the community did not stop with her work at the Passaic County Board of Social Services. She has also served as a commissioner on the Paterson Municipal Utilities Authority, on the Board of Directors for the 1NCCA for Housing for over ten years, on the Paterson YWCA Board of Directors, and as Deputy Mayor of the City of Paterson.

 

In addition to her community service, McDaniel co-founded NuFamily Foundation, which was incorporated in 2004, focusing on providing services to the underserved, underprivileged, and marginalized communities. She is married to Kenneth McDaniel Sr. and is the proud mother of Kenneth McDaniel II, Kristy McDaniel Britt, and Kevin McDaniel, and a grandmother and great-grandmother.
