Pro-Life New Jerseyans Organize Second “Day of Outrage” to Protest Radical New Abortion Legislation

State Senate bill 3030 would legalize infanticide and abortion-on-demand

ATLANTIC, ESSEX, AND MONMOUTH COUNTIES, NJ – Tomorrow, pro-life organizations across New Jersey will gather for a second time to publicly protest and pray in response to Governor Murphy’s Senate bill 3030, an Infanticide Legalization Act (formally known as the “Reproductive Freedom Act”). If passed, the bill would:

  • Require health care workers to assist in abortion up to birth despite their conscientious objections
  • Permit infanticide without an investigation
  • Allow abortionists to perform abortions without being a licensed medical doctor

In response, leading pro-life organizations have banded together in a “Working Together” coalition to educate the public about the dangerous details of the bill and the detrimental effects it would have on New Jersey women. The group held its first “Day of Outrage” in two locations on November 11 and will host a second “Day of Outrage” on Wednesday, December 2 in three counties. Each protest will take part at the legislative office of one of the leading supporters of the bill. Pro-life citizens are encouraged to join, and local media are invited to attend. The coalition promotes prayerful and peaceful protest.

Day of Outrage: Wednesday, December 2

Three times and locations:

10 am–noon: Office of Assemblywoman Mila Jasey

511 Valley St., Maplewood, NJ (Essex County)

1 pm—3 pm: Office of Assemblyman Vincent Mazzeo

2312 New Rd., Northfield, NJ (Atlantic County)

2 pm—4 pm: Office of Senator Vin Gopal

35 West Main St., Freehold, NJ (Monmouth County)

Statements from Participating Organizations:

Christine Flaherty, Executive Director, LIFENET: “This outrageous bill strips babies of their right to live, strips women of their right to safe healthcare, strips New Jersey healthcare workers and taxpayers of their rights of conscience not to participate in abortion, and even disenfranchises citizens from being able to rescind it in the future.  This anti-freedom bill must be stopped in its tracks.”

Marie Tasy of New Jersey Right to Life: “The Act shamefully disregards advances in prenatal medicine.  Instead, it seeks to dehumanize and deprive babies in the womb of their life and dignity.  It consigns them to inhumane procedures that would not be tolerated if done to a cat or a dog.”

Rev. Clenard H. Childress Jr., Founder of BlackGenocide.org: “This change will further endanger women’s health and put their lives at risk.  This lowering of care for disproportionately African American women is typical of the callous abortion industry. Abortion is the most performed surgery on a woman.  No doctors?”

Shawn HylandDirector of Advocacy for Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey: “This unsafe bill is an Infanticide Legalization Act. It threatens women’s health, jeopardizes children’s safety and criminalizes medical health professionals.”

Rev. Greg Quinlan of Garden State Families: “The Reproductive Freedom Act is a human trafficker’s best friend. The Reproductive Freedom Act will allow anyone of any age, regardless of their residency, to receive an abortion at the expense of New Jersey taxpayers. New Jersey taxpayers will be paying for abortions for women victimized by human traffickers.”
