WATCH: Governor Sherrill in Camden on the FY2027 Budget

CAMDEN - InsiderNJ this afternoon caught up Governor Mikie Sherrill as staff prepares the documents for a vote in the Legislature on the $60.7 Billion Budget.

"I'm really pleased with where the outlines of the budget fell," Sherrill told InsiderNJ. "I think getting Stay[NJ] where it is, the assembly did good work, and it's in a better place than it was before we started negotiations - taking it down to $200K and pushing more money down to the bottom. The senate did some great stuff on the earned income tax credit. That's a great policy.

"I am concerned right now about the timetable," the Governor added, referring to crunch time. "I know they're hard at work and I'm going to keep reminding them of the constitutional deadline."
